Here is a tutorial on how you can make KKCLIENT work OFFLINE:
1) Make the DNS www.kulankendi.com points to your own machine. You can do this by editing windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts file and adding this line:
127.0.0.1 www.kulankendi.com
2) After doing step 1, kkclient will still show a socket error but this time it won't be pointing to any internet server. Now you need to have a webserver in your own machine. That's very simple. Go to www.xampp.org and download xampplite (18MB).
3) Unzip xampplite on C:\. This will be enough for having a running webserver. No additional configs are needed (unless you unzip it somewhere else). Xampp will NOT add anything to the registry or services and will not mess up with your windows. Only files are written to its directory.
4) Now you need to recreate kulankendi's server structure, at least for version checking. Open Windows Explorer on c:\xampplite\htdocs. Create a folder named "_ftp_guar" (without quotes). Within _ftp_guar create 2 subdirectories: "IPData" and "KK_Client". Finally, inside KK_Client create a new subfolder called "CLData".
5) Open notepad and type "127.0.0.1". Save this file in c:\xampplite\_ftp_guar\IPData with the name "IP" and no extension.
6) Open notepad again and type "1.97" (or the version of kkclient you're using). Save this file in c:\xampplite\_ftp_guar\KK_Client\CLData with the name "ver" without extension.
7) At this point you must have a DNS entry that will make kkclient point to your own computer and a webserver that will respond with the correct file structure. Now, just run c:\xampplite\xampp-control.exe and click on Apache Start.
8) That's all. You can now safely run kkclient offline. If you want to check if all the setup went well just open Internet Explorer and type www.kulankendi.com. If a Xampp page or a "it works" page shows up, everything is coming perfectly from your computer.
9) If you use the flash procedure you will note the kkclient hangs at the end because it will be trying to update your credits on the server. To unfreeze kkclient reopen xampp-control and click on Apache Stop. You will see the socket error but then the flash procedure will be already done.
Remember not to click on kkclient Finalize option. As you all must know, offline means you have to use A2 to slide the custom pack in. And, of course, you still need to download firmwares somewhere.
If you want to get access to www.kulankendi.com again, just comment out the line in the file hosts. Apache can be started and stopped as you need too.
Enjoy!!
