Što kažete na ovo?
Nokia 1100 is one of the best-selling phones ever if not the most sold with over 200 million units spread across the world. Recently, a Dutch company called Ultrascan Advanced Global Investigations noticed that Nokia 1100 cellphones are being sold for $32,000 in some underground forums. It seems like the 1100 can be re-programmed by hackers in order to steal important information from banks customers. It is said that the hackers will use the Nokia 1100 to steal banks’ customers phone numbers, and then they will be able to receive their text messages.
Nokia says that they tested the cellphone once again, and the software doesn’t have such flaws which will allow online banking frauds. The company doesn’t understand why the Nokia 1100 which was sold for about $100 is now being sold for $32,000 in underground forums.
“We have not identified any phone software problem that would allow alleged use cases,” said Nokia in an official email.
The units which are sold for this amount were manufactured in Bochum, Germany, and German bank usually send a mobile Transaction Authentication Number to customers for online use which usually involves money transfer. Allegedly, hackers can re-program the cellphones and steal customers’ phone number which means that they will receive the mTANs.
“The mTAN is valid only for the requested transfer and only for a short period. It thus has no value for a fraudster,” said an official statement of the Deutsche Postbank.
However, if hackers receive the mTANs, I think that they will definitely make use of them and “do” some online banking frauds.
“So if this particular Nokia 1100 can be modified to spoof the victims phone number, it should be possible to become the primary handset — at least long enough to receive the TAN,” said a security expert and adviser.
It seems to me that this is a good trick, but I don’t know if the Nokia 1100 has a software flaw that will allow stealing someone else’s number. For the moment, I didn’t see any proof that a Nokia 1100 was sold for that much. Give me some evidence people! I don’t want to encourage online frauds and hackers, but if you own a Bochum-manufactured Nokia 1100 then you should try and get rich. $32,000 are a lot of money, especially during this recession.

Lijep pozdrav.![]()

Nokia: 3310 -> 3330 - > 7650 -> 3650 -> N70 -> 6288 -> 5800 XM
