Navman today announced the latest addition to its line-up of GPS products for the consumer electronics market, the Navman GPS 4410. Designed for use with Bluetooth-enabled Pocket PCs, this upgraded version of Navman’s popular GPS 4400 leverages the latest version of the company's navigational software, while the GPS 4100 model offers a standalone hardware solution for customers looking to use alternative software.

New software capabilities include Microsoft Outlook integration for address-to-contact routing, a ZIP code search tool, the ability to pre-select areas to avoid, a town-to-town routing function, complete route summary, enhanced zooming functionality and a 3D map display option which aims to enhance the visual navigation experience.

Other standard features include address-to-address routing, selectable map views, automatic and manual zoom for map detail control, Back-on-Track rerouting when off-course, day and night screen modes and a points-of-interest library. The software also provides voice guidance, in addition to visual driving instructions. The complete solution contains detailed street-level mapping for the 48 contiguous states, Hawaii, Alaska and Canada.

The GPS 4410 and 4100 employ GPS receivers combined with embedded, Class 2 Bluetooth transceivers. Once the navigation software is installed, map, voice and POI data can be stored on an SD Card. A blinking LED displays connectivity status and low battery indication. The complete GPS 4410 solution includes a wireless GPS antenna, SmartST version 2 navigation software, a vehicle power adapter and vehicle mounting brackets (for both GPS receiver and PDA). According to Navman, the unit operates for 30 hours on 3 AAA Alkaline batteries (included).

The Navman GPS 4410 and GPS 4100 are available for purchase in the U.S. and are priced at $319.95 USD and $219.95 USD respectively. An optional external antenna can be purchased for $79.95 USD, while SmartST V2 software can also be purchased independently for $189.95 USD.
