Apple has officially announced that the iPhone will support YouTube clips. They can be downloaded to the phone via Wi-Fi or EDGE connection. Dedicated software will be preinstalled.
Reportedly, YouTube has been experiencing conversion of video to H.264 format to achieve higher quality and longer battery life when idle. According to Apple, there will be over 10000 video clips in this format available by the release of the iPhone, June 29, and the iPhone will be the pioneer mobile device that can view them. By this fall YouTube expects to make the whole source available in H.264.
