Backup: this folder has 2 submenus, "Create Backup" and "Restore Backup", these will backup your contacts with assigned picture and ringtone links, SMS and wap/mms settings as well as restore them. When you use the "Restore Backup" menu, just press it and wait as the phone will reboot automatically which is necassary in order to update the changes.You also can keep copies of those Backups on your PC (advisable for the 512MB V8 as you will lose them when flashing again)
Screenshot, FTP & USB Lan: this menu will allow to take screenshots, connect to it with FTP and use telnet.
For this menu to work you need to connect to PC with USB cable, press this menu, then open web browser on PC and enter "http://192.168.16.2" and follow the instruction, to take different screenshots just navigate on the V8 and press the "Refresh" button on the webpage.
For FTP you have to set these settings in your FTP client (I use FileZilla, as it is free and OpenSource)

To use Telnet, just open MS DOS-command prompt on PC and enter "telnet 192.168.16.2" and the login = root.
Button Shortcuts: works only when sidebar is not active, it lets you change the button shortcuts of the Music key and the Camera side button to one of 17 predefined options.
Change Bootlogo: this allows you to change the bootlogo image to whatever you like as long as it is an 24-bit bmp image in 240x320 format. Those images should go into the "boologo" folder in /ezxlocal/download/mystuff/bootlogo.
NavKey Shortcuts: only works with sidebar active! It will let you set the left and right navigation keys (arrow keys) to one of 17 predefined options.
Weblink Sidebar: only works with sidebar active, as it lets you to change the 5 weblink you have on the sidebar. Don't worry if the letter change to * after a few seconds it still works. You can change the URL and the Name of each weblink.
There are 10 external skin folders (2GB V8: 3 on small partition, 7 on 2GB memory), they are empty and you can add whatever skin you want, but remember you have to create a new Theme for each new skin you install.
Further customisation are
- you can change the startup/shutdown animation for each Theme, just copy your animation into /ezxlocal/download/mystuff/poweron or /ezxlocal/download/mystuff/poweroff and then select them in the Theme configuration.
- you can change the operator logo to whatever you want, but it only works if the operator name is read from the plmn_text_table.bin file, if the operator name is read from the sim card then it will not work. The plmn_text_table.bin file is in /ezxlocal/download/mystuff/custom folder and you need to edit it with OpEdit (see Guide section in this forum).
- you can change the Reminder PING sound to whatever you like, but you have to keep the file name the same, ui_beep.wav. This file can also be found in /ezxlocal/download/mystuff/custom
- you can change the startup and shutdown sound, but also keep the same file name. Those can be found in /ezxlocal/download/mystuff/custom.
