Episode 7 - “Not in Portland”
The episode begins with a flashback featuring Juliet in Miami, caring for her ill sister. She injects a drug into her stomach. Later, she goes to the hospital where she works to steal more of the drug (which is in a bottle similar to the one we saw at the DHARMA station where Claire was kept), and is soon discovered by her boss and ex-husband Edmund Burke, who is with another woman.
Episode 8 - “Flashes Before Your Eyes”
Charlie and Hurley ransack Sawyer's stash of hidden goods. Desmond approaches and asks them to come with him. In the jungle, they meet Locke and Sayid. Locke informs them that Eko has been killed and that they need Charlie and Hurley to remain calm as an example to the others when they break the news. Charlie wants to know how Eko died; when Locke says the island killed him, he grows angry and demands a better answer, while Desmond grows increasingly uneasy. Suddenly, Desmond sprints off; the other four follow him. He runs down to the beach, dives in, swims out and rescues Claire. Charlie wonders aloud how Desmond knew Claire was drowning; Hurley tells him that Desmond can see the future.

Episode 9 - “Stranger in a Strange Land”
Sawyer and Kate are seen on Alex's canoe with an unconscious Karl, paddling away from the Hydra island. Kate suggests returning for Jack; however, Sawyer refuses. Tom handcuffs Jack and moves him out of his room. In the hallway, Tom and Jack pass a handcuffed Juliet and an older woman, whom Tom reveals to be the 'sheriff' named Isabel. Tom also informs Jack that Juliet is in trouble.
Episode 10 - “Tricia Tanaka Is Dead”
The show opens with a flashback: young Hurley joins his father, David Reyes, over an old car. He asks Hurley to start the car, even though there is no carburetor. When young Hurley states the obvious ("the car won't start without a carburetor"), David assures him good things happen when you believe they will, and that in this world you have to "make your own luck." Hurley's father tells Hurley he is leaving "for some work in Las Vegas" but will be "back before you know it." As David rides away, the mother is looking sadly out the window, Hurley is eating a "Glacier" chocolate bar, given to him by his father.
