Našao sam na http://www.mobil.cz/ (koliko sam mogao skužiti češki) da se radi o nasljedniku T200 ali ovaj radi na frekvama za ameriku dok će se europska verzija (ak se pojavi) zvati T210.

Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications today unveiled the T226 mobile phone for the American market. The T226 is a colour screen dual-band 850/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS handset that combines the fun of imaging, entertainment and Internet connectivity in a lightweight, easy-to-use phone. Designed for simplicity with a strong focus on the features that consumers prioritize most, the Sony Ericsson T226 has easy access desktop menus for fast access to fun games, ring tones and picture messages.

“The T226 is specially designed for users who want a stylish and affordable phone that contains advanced features and functionality without the expensive price tag,” said Suzanne Cross, Sony Ericsson Product Marketing Manager in North America. “The T226 is the smart choice for mobile users seeking a nimble phone that’s not just easy-to-use but also fun-to-use.”
Whether at a child’s school play or on a family holiday, this phone makes it easy for users to stay in touch and share the fun through photo messaging. Together with the CommuniCamTM MCA-25 snap-on camera accessory, the T226 enables users to capture, view, and send their photos, either to the recipient’s computer or to a compatible mobile phone.

The T226 is light and compact and offers a rich colour screen, whose high pixel density LCD screen supports advanced image viewing and an impressive mobile gaming experience.

With Picture Caller ID as a standard feature of the T226, users see not only the phone number, but also the photo of their callers. The phone can double as a speakerphone when connected to Sony Ericsson’s Desk Speaker Stand CSS-20 for times at home or in the office when handsfree calling is a must.

The fun experience is enhanced by the rich, 32-tone polyphonic sound that greets users with a separate speaker just for ring tones. The T226 even lets users record their own voice and use it as a ring tone. For gaming, users will appreciate the added fun of a five-way joystick for enhanced mobile game play. Users of the T226 can take advantage of the phone’s Mophun gaming engine for the widest selection of downloadable colour games.

The Sony Ericsson T226 unit is compact, measuring just 3.9 x 1.7 x 0.75 inches and weighing only 2.6 ounces. It has powerful battery life, averaging 7.5 hours talk time and 275 hours stand-by time. solidan dizaj i mislim da je bolji ekran!

Ekran izgleda kao da ima najmanje 4k boja... iako nigdje točno to ne piše...

Drago mi je da su promijenili vrstu joysticka - sad je to tipka sa 4 strane i jedan gumb u sredini za OK... jer ovaj moj joystick na T68i već opasno štrajka pogotovo kad želim njime nešto potvrditi (OK smjer)... a čitao sam i o problemima sa joystickm na T 610...

Evo još nešto - ukratko zvat će se T220 u Europi, a displej će imati 512 boja! koliko sam uspio saznati (prvi telefon za kojeg čujem da će imati 512 boja). I koštat će oko 130 buksi...
...i vjerujem da će pokopati T310 kad stigne...

Sony Ericsson T220 - a novelty in the middle price segment

Today Sony Ericsson has announced Т226 which is the exact copy of Т220 intended for the European market. The difference is only in bands (900/1800), as for the rest the models are the same. The device is constructed on the same platform as Т310, there are no many changes: improved screen, new games set and a couple of new functions. The device's sizes are 100х43х19 mm, weight 74 grammes. There are 32 polyphony ring tones, according to the developers the loudness of the ring tones is increased. The model is producing at Lite-On Technology factory in Taiwan, the deliveries to Europe will begin in the 3 quarter. The expected retail price of this device will make about 130 dollars.
