Developers have had the opportunity to work with beta versions of iOS 4.3 for several months. The new OS release isn’t going to introduce as many features as the iOS 4.0 update or the unifying iOS 4.2 release, but the improvements should be appreciated across the iOS line.
Better Performance
In recent years, browser makers have found that optimizing the JavaScript engine is the best way to increase speed and performance when loading web pages on the desktop. We’re now starting to see these optimizations applied to the mobile browser.
In iOS 4.3, Apple has migrated its Nitro JavaScript engine from Safari 5.0 on the desktop to Safari for iOS. Apple says that these performance tweaks mean that JavaScript will run up to twice as fast in iOS 4.2. As more websites take advantage of JavaScript to provide interactive features and animations, a faster JavaScript engine should equal a more responsive web browsing experience.
iTunes Home Sharing
Apple didn’t announce the cloud-based media service many of us were hoping to see, but the company will be making it easier to access iTunes data from iOS devices.
iTunes for Windows and Mac has had the Home Sharing feature for quite some time. This feature makes it easy to stream media from one iTunes library to another. iOS 4.3 will bring that feature to the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
Apps like Air Video [iTunes link] already offer a great way for users to access video content on their Mac or PC from an iOS device, but the iTunes Home Sharing feature will let users interact directly with iTunes.
That means that music, videos, podcasts and audio books can be streamed from a Mac or PC onto an iOS device across a shared network.
AirPlay Gets Better
Apple introduced AirPlay with the new Apple TV in October 2010 as a way to watch content from an iPhone or iPad on the big screen.
iOS 4.3 opens up AirPlay a bit and it now supports music, movies and photos. It also lets users stream videos recorded with the iPhone or iPad camera directly to the Apple TV.
What we’re really excited about is that more third-party apps can now take advantage of AirPlay and that websites can get in on the fun too. Increasingly we hope to see the AirPlay API open up more so that things like the Dark Knight movie app can make their way to our Apple TV devices.
Personal Hotspot (iPhone 4 Only)
The Verizon iPhone introduced a new feature that lets iPhone users share their 3G data connection with other devices via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB. This is a popular feature on Android 2.2 devices and one the iPhone can really benefit from having.
As we’ve reported before, Personal Hotspot isn’t a feature that is limited to the Verizon iPhone — other iPhone 4 units can utilize the feature too. Pricing and data caps will vary by carrier, but true hotspot sharing (as opposed to the previous tethering option) for up to five devices (three over Wi-Fi) is coming soon.
iPad Switch Options
My least favorite part of the iOS 4.2 update for iPad is the alteration of the side button, which now functions as a mute switch rather than an orientation lock. Double tapping, sliding to the right and hitting a button is just more complicated than flipping a switch. It’s fine on the iPhone — where the side button really does make sense as a mute switch — but on the iPad it’s an annoyance.
In a very un-Apple move, the company is giving users the option to have the side switch act as a mute switch or an orientation lock. We say un-Apple because the company tends not to go back on software design decisions and generally opposes creating multiple options for the same function.
In any event, we’re very happy Apple has made this a user choice. And while most users will be fine with the defaults, I know I will be happy to bring back to the side orientation lock function to my iPad.
Calm Before the Storm
iOS 4.3 might be lacking some of the spark that we’ve seen from previous Apple releases — but remember, Apple will likely unveil the next major version of iOS alongside the next iPhone this June.
In the interim, iOS 4.3 will give developers and users more functionality to an already solid OS.

engadget..prvi review ipad2
:It might frustrate the competition to hear this, but it needs to be said: the iPad 2 isn't just the best tablet on the market, it feels like the only tablet on the market.
White iPhone 4 Production Is Underway, Shipping To Consumers Next Month?
With wait so long, white iPhone 4 had started to sound like a myth but since the announcement of iPad 2 in white, I think this time Apple actually plans to make white iPhone 4 available. We have heard yet another release date and are hoping for it to be true. According to one of the recent reports by an analyst, the production of the white iPhone 4 begins sometime in this month with shipments around April.
GSM based white iPhones shall be dispatched to Apple ahead of general availability planned for next month, Concord Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo told AppleInsider.
Apple has finally been able to make work-around changes to fix the light-leakage problem that caused degraded camera results. This was obvious since Apple has also announced iPad 2 in white which will be made available along-side black iPad 2. This has been done by partnering with a Japanese company that crafted a new paint material for Apple’s devices.
However, the analyst didn’t add anything on the CDMA based iPhones. If the GSM based white iPhone 4 ships in April and CDMA one sometime after that, will Apple really announce the iPhone 5 in June?

iOS 4.3 Untethered Jailbreak Demoed On Video !
iPhone security expert and hacker Stefan Esser has managed to jailbreak iOS 4.3 untethered. He has been working privately on it for a while, independently of all teams. Therefore his work is likely to be legit.
For those of you who don’t know, Stefan Esser is the same person who recently found a new method, called antid0te which promised to jailbreak iOS devices with all the enhanced security mechanisms in place so that the jailbroken iOS devices are secured as much, or even more than the non-jailbroken ones. This new method was said to use ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) which has been absent from all the current iOS devices up to iOS 4.2.1, making them vulnerable to attacks such as the ones demonstrated at Pwn2Own contest. But starting with iOS 4.3, Apple has implemented ASLR for all iOS devices.
In case you don’t already know, all the current jailbreak tools are using Geohot’s bootrom based Limera1n exploit to jailbreak iOS based devices on the latest firmware. Since Limera1n exploit exists in the hardware, only a hardware revision from Apple could have patched it.
And now according to iH8sn0w’s findings, Apple has patched Limera1n in the just released iPad 2. What this means is that you will not be able to jailbreak it with current jailbreak tools until and unless the leaked SHAtter exploit is also not patched. But if SHAtter is also patched, then someone will have to find another bootrom exploit in the new hardware for us to jailbreak it on iOS 4.3.
SHAtter Also Patched in iPad 2, Confirms iPhone Dev Team
Well some more bad news for early adaptors of iPad 2 who wants to jailbreak their shiny new device. After the confirmation of Limera1n being patched in iPad 2’s bootrom, MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has now confirmed that early testing of SHAtter shows that it has also been patched by Apple in iPad 2.
= Citat =:
MuscleNerd: iPad2 bootrom version iBoot-838.3 means it was compiled March’10. Seems geohot guessed right: limera1n was already closed
MuscleNerd: Early testing also seems to show at least one thing SHAtter depends on was gone by March 2010 too :(
MuscleNerd: This means any early iPad2 jailbreaks will have to be purely userland
In case you don’t already know, all the current jailbreak tools are using Geohot’s bootrom based Limera1n exploit to jailbreak iOS based devices on the latest firmware. Since Limera1n exploit exists in the hardware, only a hardware revision from Apple could have patched it. Geohot released Limera1n back in October last year and forced the Chronic Dev Team to save their SHAtter exploit to jailbreak future devices such as the iPad 2.
But unfortunately, Apple had already patched both the exploits back in March 2010, long before they were found by Geohot (Limera1n) and Chronic Dev Team (SHAtter).
So what now? Bootrom based exploits have more life, but they are harder to find as they exist in the hardware. Geohot has been known for finding such exploits but since he is now busy in Sony-PS3 lawsuit, someone like pod2g (who found SHAtter and kernel based untethered exploit for GreenPois0n RC5) will have to come up with a new exploit which will obviously going to take some time. And even if he finds one, I doubt he is gonna release it since iPhone 5 launch is just around the corner (summer 2011).
So now we will have to wait for someone like Comex, who specializes in userland-based jailbreaks, to do their magic and bring yet another JailbreakMe like tool to jailbreak iOS 4.3 firmware on the iPad 2.

HD 720p Video Sample Shot from iPad 2 Rear Camera
With the news that Apple’s iPad 2 would feature not one, but two cameras, the debate has been whether the rear-facing one would be up to snuff or not. We have found this video on YouTube that is claimed to have been shot on an actual iPad 2, we can all make our own minds up.While the world’s tech press hypothesized whether the iPad 2 would sport an iPhone 4 quality shooter or the less impressive iPod touch.
It appears that unfortunately Apple stumped for the cheaper iPod variety, though you can check out the embedded video to form your opinion whether that’s a deal-breaker for you.
It’s worth remembering that this video has gone through YouTube compression algorithms, so bear that in mind when watching.

Permanent iPhone 4 Unlock Solution In Works !
As we all know by now, the exploit which iPhone Dev Team, including MuscleNerd and Sherif Hashim, thought would work to unlock iPhone 4 on 2.10.04, 3.10.01 and 4.10.01 basebands unfortunately turned out to be a no-show in the end.
But all is not lost as the Dev-Team is now said to be working hard on a new exploit (originally made by Geohot three years ago) that could possibly unlock iPhone 4 forever.
The following FAQ (courtesy of Vincent) will help answer most of your questions related to this new permanent iPhone 4 unlock exploit.
= Citat =:
Since there is a lot of confusion out there, and since I’m repeating myself all the time (which I do not really like), I made this little write up of questions that are continuously being asked (my personal FAQ). Please not that this is a global explanation. Don’t try to argue with me on specific details.
1. What happened?! I thought the unlock for basebands 02.10.01 & 03.10.01 would be released within the next 2 weeks?
As you know the Dev-Team (MuscleNerd) have been working on the unlock for quite a while now. They were making great progress on the unlock, but they found out that they (accidentally) unlocked "one particular SIM card" instead of the baseband itself. Which means that the unlock would only be an unlock you could use with MuscleNerd’s T-Mobile SIM. So, useless. If the unlock would unlock the baseband instead of "the SIM", it’d probably be out within 2 weeks (reasonable timeframe which they had hoped). But things turned out to be different. Basically these <2 weeks predictions were a lack of information.
2. What is this NCK-key cracking? How does it work?
The NCK-key is the key generated by Apple if you’d officially unlock you iPhone, and with officially I mean, via your carrier. This "NCK-unlock" method is known over a few years now, actually since geohot started working on unlocking the iPhone 2G. He developed a program that could "crack" this 15 digits long key and unique for every device. Geohots NCKBF program could do around 100,000 keys/second which would produce a hit in many years, or complete a search in 317 years. To get to a point where this is actually doable we would need many orders of magnitude of improvement. Even if you use a PS3 (would we still want to use this??) or special hardware (within 1,000 US$ range) you will only get an improvement of 20-100 times.. which doesn’t help much.
Now, luckily, with the exploits they have now, they can’t unlock your baseband, but they *can* capture more information from the baseband to speed up this cracking process. Since the NORID and CHIPID (unique for every device) are known, you’d apparently only have to check 40 more bits (5 digits). A 40 bits key is theoretically crackable on "home hardware" within a week (24/7). The downside of this approach is that you’ll have to keep your computer turned on, and your iPhone has to be connected. And that is the reason why they never tried it before. Please note that this method is completely theorical and has been NOT tried at all till this moment.
3. Now what? Should I sell my locked iPhone 4?
I’d wait for more information on this "NCK-unlock". Right now it’s pretty vague what timeframe we’re talking about. If the Dev-Team can pull this method off, it’d be very promising for those waiting for an unlock. If this method turns out to be not doable, I’d consider selling your iPhone 4 and save up for a factory unlocked iPhone 5.
4. Do you think there is every going to be an unlock?
Of course. But that’s unlikely to be any time soon (with soon being <1 month).
5. If the NCK method fails, how long do you think it will take for the Dev-Team to unlock the iPhone 4?
No ETA at all. Could be a few weeks, but it could easily be a few months as well.

iPhone 5 Design Images Leaked?
Chinese site iDealsChina claims to have got hold of engineering design images of what could possibly be for the next-generation iPhone 5.
The leaked design images shows larger (possibly 4-inch) edge-to-edge display with thinner bezel, and it goes well with their previous front-panel leak for iPhone 5.

Untethered Jailbreak To Be Delayed Until Apple Releases iOS 4.3.1 To Public
That untethered jailbreak demo that we posted about last night? Well it looks like the hacker behind the exploit is going to save it until Apple releases iOS 4.3.1.
= Citat =:
i0n1c: With Apple already baking 4.3.1 the first one releasing an iOS 4.3 jailbreak will pretty much burn the exploit :P
i0n1c: Well Apple should release 4.3.1 very soon, because tomorrow everybody knows that @0xcharlie popped an iPhone 4 at #pwn2own through Safari.
Why you may ask? At Pwn2Own contest, iPhone 4 was hacked via vulnerability which was found in Mobile Safari running iOS 4.2.1. This vulnerability also exists in iOS 4.3 but all devices running the latest version of iOS are safe until hackers find a way to bypass the ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) which Apple has implemented for all supported devices starting from iOS 4.3.
In an interview, winners of Pwn2Own told ZDNet that bypassing ASLR security in iOS 4.3 is harder to do then what most think it is.
= Citat =:
f you update your iPhone today, the [MobileSafari] vulnerability is still there, but the exploit won’t work. I’d have to bypass DEP and ASLR for this exploit to work.
As of 4.3, because of the new ASLR, it will be much harder.
According to Charlie Miller, the winner of this years’ Pwn2Own contest, Apple has been informed about the vulnerability and they are going to fix it in the next update.
= Citat =:
@0xcharlie: Me and @dionthegod won pwn2own for iPhone, yippee. Apple already has the vulnerability information and will patch soon.
So is iOS 4.3.1 release imminent? Not anytime soon I think. Since the exploit mentioned above in iOS 4.3 requires ASLR to be bypassed, I don’t think Apple will be worried too much. Or not until someone figures out a way to bypass ASLR and makes the technique public. What do you think?

Apple iPad 2 Has Been Jailbroken!
Yes you read that right ! The famous iPhone developer and hacker Comex, who previously released userland jailbreaks such as Spirit and JailbreakMe, has done the magic yet again !
@comex: would’ve had it yesterday if I didn’t have to spend 1.5 days looking for a replacement exploit (which came from a most unexpected place…)
@iphone_dev: Congrats to @comex for jailbreaking yet another brand new device (iPad2) while 2500 miles away from it!

There is no ETA yet. It will be released when it is done.

iOS 4.3 Untethered Jailbreak To Drop “Before The Next Weekend”
iPhone security expert and hacker Stefan Esser has now provided an ETA for his untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 4.3. According to the updated YouTube description of his video, he is going to release it as soon as next week.
This video demonstrates my iPad 1 running untethered jailbroken iOS 4.3
The jailbreak uses a *UNDISCLOSED* exploit in the iOS Kernel. Installation is similar to previous iOS versions which means you require a bootrom exploit (or something else) to install it in the root partition.
Because there is no public bootrom exploit for the iPad 2 at the moment it will not work for now.
However the jailbreak can be made compatible with all devices that are vulnerable to the limer4in exploit and that are supported by iOS 4.3
Because of several changes in iOS 4.3 in comparison to iOS 4.2.1 the jailbreak is NOT READY yet. That is what the *ALPHA* means. I need some time to check what kernel patches are actually required to work 100%ly.
However I recommend the dev-team or chronic-dev to first release a *tethered* iOS 4.3 so that everyone can test if their nice feature actually work. I guess most people require Mobile Substrate to work and AFAIK it does not work due to ASLR. It would be a waste if Apple kills an untethered jailbreak before Mobile Substrate works.
That said I will release the jailbreak when a) there is no other untether by the time I am finished b) if MobileSubstrate works.
Any report that I wait for iOS 4.3.1 is just a misinterpretation of my words.
I merely think that Apple should release a iOS 4.3.1 soon, because it is in their interest to not wait for several months when everyone knows that there is a remote exploit in MobileSafari that might have leaked during the #PWN2OWN contest.
Check back in the next days for more information about when and where you can get it.
DO NOT LET YOURSELF GET SCAMMED BY ALL THE OTHERS TRYING TO SELL YOU THIS EXPLOIT. IT WILL NOT LEAVE MY HOUSE BEFORE IT IS FINISHED.
Because so many people are asking for an ETA:
I am pretty sure that the untether will be released before the next weekend. I was using older kernel patches that caused lagging on the jailbroken device. I will change that and then port it to the other devices and release.

Foxconn Source Allegedly Confirms iPhone 5 Prototype With Metal Back, Large Screen, iPhone 4 Shape
Those wacky guys at Foxconn just can’t keep a lid on anything these days, and now 9to5Mac is citing sources saying they have seen prototype iPhone 5 in the flesh.
The sources claim that the next-generation iPhone 5 will retain a similar size and shape to the current model, with a couple of key changes.
The first change is the screen. Rumors have circulated for a while now, with many believing a 4-inch screen is on the horizon – bringing Apple’s handset in-line with the major competition. An edge-to-edge screen is also expected. No resolution was mentioned, however.
The other change involves the materials used. Again, rumors have suggested that a metal rear-plate will replace the current glass solution. The original 2007 iPhone used a metal enclosure which was later changed to plastic for the 3G and 3GS models to improve radio performance. If Apple does continue with the iPhone 4′s antenna system, it’s possible the material used on the rear won’t affect reception quite so much. Perhaps we could even see Liquid Metal come to the iPhone?
As is so often the case with these things though, we’re sure there will be rumors and counter-rumors leading up to an official iPhone 5 announcement and we can’t wait to hear what they are!

Apple Plans Free And Revamped MobileMe Integrated With iOS 5 For April
,
MobileMe is probably one of the most widely used cloud services to keep your emails, contacts and calendar in sync on all your devices. Earlier we reported that Apple is going to unveil iOS 5 and MobileMe revamp in April. The reason why Apple will be unveiling the two together in a single event is that they are probably deeply integrated. How? we don’t know for sure but iOS 5 is expected to bring in a lot of cloud features.
We now have another source that backs the claim of the revamped MobileMe April launch which sort of confirms the early April event. Folks at iLounge report that the new revamped version will come free. Reported to them by a source who works in an educational institute, the new version is going to be free online cloud based "locker" for keeping photos, videos and music. Source claims, the school’s supplier has said that the current version of MobileMe is no longer available and anyone who needs to sign up shall opt for the 60-day trial. This will cover the gap till the launch of new version.
Apple will support existing version for an year, this suggests that the new version is going to be a lot more different and the support for older version is kept for those who recently paid for their yearly subscription.

DreamBoard – An Alternative To WinterBoard For Jailbreak Themers
WinterBoard has been the skinning app of choice for many-a-jailbreaker for a good long while now, and it’s done a sterling job. Now though, it’s perhaps time for a challenger to try to break the equilibrium. That challenger is DreamBoard.
Now before you all read that opening paragraph and go delete WinterBoard, allow me to explain. DreamBoard is actually a little different to WinterBoard. The new DreamBoard is more of a way to apply themes to an iDevice rather than the more granular (if you want it) option of WinterBoard.

iPhone – The World’s Favorite Camera [INFOGRAPHIC]
The Geekaphone crowd have spent a month looking at the Apple iPhone in the context of it being a serious alternative to expensive standalone cameras. Written over 5 parts, the report looks into the various special effects applications we all know and love, how photo sharing applications and even compares the iPhone’s camera to high-end DSLRs – turns out the iPhone is a pretty good camera!
In some ways, comparing the camera in the iPhone 4 to a high end DSLR is like comparing a hamburger from the local pub to an 18 oz. porterhouse from Peter Luger’s Steak House in New York. Yet, the hamburger is pretty darned good and most people eat hamburgers more often than they do expensive prime grade steaks. A comparison of this nature is unfair to the iPhone. It’s not designed to compete with a DSLR and to expect it to compete at that level is unrealistic. However, it is a camera, among other things, and we compare cameras of different levels all the time.
One of the stand-out findings from Geekaphone’s report is the amount of love for the iPhone on photo sharing site, Flickr. As shown by the infographic above, the number of photos taken by iPhones and uploaded to Flickr just keeps on growing, while photos from well known and long established camera makers are on the decline.

iOS 5 Possibly Delayed Until Fall, Cloud Announcement To Come At WWDC
TechCrunch writer MG Siegler today put together a post that could go some way to explaining why Apple didn’t at least preview iOS 5 at its iPad 2 event as many of us thought they might. According to Siegler’s sources, the next major release of Apple’s mobile OS has been pushed back to a Fall release – and the cloud will feature heavily in this new version.
Apple’s usual M.O. is to release new point-0 versions of its OS with the new iPhone, with previews coming before a summer launch. If these sources are correct then Apple could be deviating from this timeline, something the boys (and girls) from Cupertino don’t tend to do.
New rumors also point to iOS 5 sporting new cloud features, presumably related to the new and improved MobileMe the industry has been waiting for ever since Apple acquired music service LaLa. The new ‘Locker’ feature for storing music would be amongst these new features, according to Siegler.
Other information gleaned from the ‘two solid sources’ includes:
* iOS 5 will be a major revamp of the operating system
* The release will be previewed at WWDC, though not released
* Interestingly the TechCrunch post claims the new release will coincide with a new iPad, despite iPad 2 only being released this month
* New, cloud focused features with the ‘Locker’ playing a part
* A new location service for finding family and friends will also be included
Don’t worry though, the iPhone 5 isn’t expected to be delayed to meet with an iOS 5 launch. It’s believed that the next iPhone will simply be brought to market with a version of iOS 4.x under the hood. Presumably a new release of iOS will accompany the new handset in order to leverage any new hardware features, however.

If you crack open the casing of the new iPhone, you will find significant upgrades from the iPhone 4. The new iPhone features Apple’s dual-core A5 processor like the iPad 2 for even faster performance, better gaming, and drastically improved graphics. Apple didn’t stop there though. Unlike the iPad 2, the new iPhone packs 1GB of RAM, according to a source familiar with the SOC’s manufacturing. That not only means better web browsing, but more importantly, new background tasks that Apple will introduce in the new iPhone’s software will perform much better.
The new iPhone will also feature an upgraded camera system. In terms of hardware, the new camera is an 8 megapixel sensor that takes incredibly high-resolution and clear shots, even in low light conditions because it has a backlit sensor. Also, panorama photography references have been found in the iOS SDK on multiple occasions which means we’ll likely see that feature. Other than that, the camera front-end system is reportedly mostly the same.
The new iPhone also contains Qualcomm Gobi Baseband chips that allow it to operate on both GSM and CDMA networks. We can’t yet confirm or deny the rumors that Apple was building a virtual SIM card system or if it has an NFC chip yet, however.
Although some may be happy with the new iPhone’s substantial internal hardware boosts, the new device’s biggest selling point is actually a software feature called Assistant. As we first revealed, Assistant is Apple’s Siri-inspired, system-wide voice navigation system. It so far appears that iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS users will be left out in the fun, unfortunately, because the feature requires the A5 CPU and additional RAM.
Everything you could possibly want to know about Assistant is after the break…
From what we’ve heard, the Siri-based Assistant is described as the biggest game changer in this year’s iPhone. The system is the evolution of the Voice Control function that was introduced alongside the iPhone 3GS in 2009 and it is the fruit of Apple’s purchase of Siri last year.
How it works:
To activate, the user holds down the home button for a couple of seconds (loads much quicker than Voice Control because of the A5 chip/RAM) and then the microphone interface “slides up” from the bottom in a clever animation. The speech interface doesn’t cover your entire view, just about the bottom fourth of the display – like the multitasking/app-switcher function. The feature even works from the lock screen.
As a disclaimer, we must note that the software was not finalized when the details were provided, so some features may change in the shipping version.
Since there are so few direct commands with Voice Control, Apple slides the command options by on a waveform. Assistant is packed with seemingly endless possibilities, so Apple instead has a small “info” button which one can click to view some of the most commonly spoken commands. This command view not only shows command types, but actually provides some sample phrases; Apple obviously wants their implementation to be as intuitive as possible. In the middle of the Assistant interface – next to the small command samples button – is a silver microphone icon with an orbiting purple flare. The flare notes that your iPhone is ready to receive commands.
Assistant taps into many aspects of the iPhone, according to people familiar with the feature and SDK findings. For example, one can say make appointment with Mark Gurman for 7:30 PM and Assistant will create the appointment in the user’s calendar. On noting events, Assistant also allows users to set reminders for the iOS 5 Reminders application. For example, a user could say “remind me to buy milk when I arrive at the market.” Another example would be integration with the iOS Maps application. A user could ask: “how do I get to Staples Center?” and Assistant will use the user’s current location via GPS and provide directions.
Another interesting Assistant feature is the ability to create and send an SMS or iMessage with just your voice. For example, you can say “send a text to Mark saying I’ll be running late to lunch!” – and it will send. This is a super compelling feature for people who cannot physically or safely take the time to type out a text message. Users can also choose to have Assistant read back unsent text messages to ensure the system interpreted the speech correctly. If the text is written correctly, the user simply says “yes;” if not the user says “no” and Assistant will ask the user to speak again. Apple is also working to allow users to ask for a specific song to be played. Voice Control only allows albums, artists, and playlists to be chosen with your voice.
One of the key elements of Assistant is the conversation view. The system will actually speak back and forth with the user to gain the most information in order to provide the best results. The user essentially can hold a conversation with their iPhone like it is another human being. For example, if a user is making a meeting with me, they will say “setup meeting with Mark” and the first “bubble” of the conversation thread will say that. After that, the system will speak back: “which e-mail address should Mark be notified at, work or personal?” This question will both be spoken out loud by the iPhone Assistant and shown as a new “bubble” in the conversation thread. The user will then respond with the email address they want to notify me at, and the appointment will be made. The iPhone will even show a quick glance at a calendar view to confirm the appointment. If the Assistant was sending an SMS, as another example, a mini SMS view would appear so the user has a quick glance at the SMS thread.
Assistant is literally like a personal assistant, but in your phone. The speech interpretation is so accurate that users do not even have to speak very clearly or in a slow and robotic tone, according to a source familiar with the software. Users can simply talk how they would usually talk to another person, and the iPhone with Assistant will do its best to interpret the speech and provide accurate results.
Another compelling feature relating to Assistant is “Find my Friends.” Yes, Find my Friends is real and Apple may have been waiting on Assistant integration to release it into the wild. Basically, if a friend of mine wants to instantly know where I am, they could say “where’s Mark?” and Assistant will locate me and share my location information. Of course, there will be privacy settings for this as we previously revealed.
Perhaps the coolest aspect of Assistant is its integration with Wolfram Alpha. For those unfamiliar with Wolfram Alpha, it is an online computational knowledge system. With its integration into the new iPhone and Assistant, one could essentially ask their iPhone facts or questions of all types and get an instant response. For example, you can ask your iPhone a math problem or ask how many feet are there in 12.75 meters, and get an instant answer. The whole idea of having an infinite amount of information at the sound of your voice is unbelievably convenient and powerful.
In addition to Assistant, the new iPhone features Nuance speech-to-text integration, formally called “Dictation,” according to a mobile carrier source familiar with the feature’s extended testing. As expected, the user just taps the microphone icon, speaks, and the speech becomes text. This happens in less than a second in most cases and is unbelievably accurate. The interface for this is also said to be remarkably simple and blends into the design of the iOS 5 Messages application.
Going back to the hardware design, we’re hesitant to jump to conclusions at this point, but we do know that these next-generation iPhones are definitely floating around with shells that look identical to the iPhone 4. Because a report claimed that Apple is stuffing next-generation guts into iPhone 4 casings to throw off leaks, we don’t want to affirm that the new iPhone retains the iPhone 4 design. In addition, a new design has been rumored based on recent “iPhone 5″ case leaks.
In any case, expect Assistant, 1GB of RAM, the dual-core A5 processor, Nuance speech-to-text, and an 8 megapixel camera to make an incredible iPhone upgrade on October 4th.

Iako sumnjam u toliku daljnju orginalnost i inovativnost.

iPhone 4S uporedne cijene SIM FREE modela

Radio: Prčkao po porukama, app store, i još prčkanja po datotekama, pričao 1min poziv.

Evo report baterije. iPhone 4 (16GB) star 5 dana.
Stanje: 9%
Usage: 6h 0min
Standby: 1 day, 12hours
Osvjetljenje na 80% (fixno), koristio se i edge i 3G (pola pola), wifi upanjen non stop, igranje igrica (1.5h), slanje poruka, IM, slikanje i druge gluposti, email (15min refresh), FB (push).
Ja zadovoljan :)

Nije to previse bitno.
